2006 'On the Map'

Maps imply surveying where you are and searching to places unknown to you. They are sources of data and frames of reference. They are useful tools for navigating difficult places. Maps interested me for their parallels to both the making of art and how the public experiences it.

GNAF06 was graced with a bigger budget, and followed with the idea that going big all around was the way to go. Everyone felt that the festival wasn't visible enough the first year, so this was an attempt at getting ourselves 'on the map' as well. We had many artists, many genres, packed into fewer days, at more sites around the city.
